Is it more efficient to charge a cellphone via a power outlet, or with a computer via a USB cable?

Using the mains power charger is efficient because it charges your phone quickly and it uses a very small current.
The USB port will draw current again from the mains power indirectly. Plus the computer uses its own power so this is definitely not a efficient option.
USB charging is helpful if you are doing data transfers between your computer and phone. this way its not relying on the phone battery power but giving its own.
