Organized sports get teens more active because they have routine and structure. You have to attend practices and do what the coaches tell you to stay on the team. You are pretty much forced into activity but if you like the sport enough, you will find the practices beneficial.

Some teens do not play sports because that is not what their priorities are. Some may have jobs or would rather spend more time on schooling. On the flip side, some teens play sports because their parents make them.

Playing high school sports was a great time in my life where I met a lot of good friends and learned many valuable life lessons. Sports teaches you discipline and many other values that you will find helpful later in life.
