I have a broken laptop. How can I access the information stored on the hard drive?

I have a defective HP Pavillion ze5400 laptop with a Hitachi Travelstar 75gb hard drive inside. This laptop is broken and will not power up. How can I access the data of this drive on my newer HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop?

    Take out the hard drive, find out if it has an IDE or SATA interface and buy an adapter or enclosure compatible so you can hook it up to your other PC via USB. I prefer the enclosure option so you can use your hard drive afterward as an external.

    Remove the hardrive (if it’s still working) and replace it with current one (might wanna ask a professional to do this)

    purchase a SATA to USB converter or an external caddy then you will be able to see your data, plus you’ll have an external backup hard drive
